The Unexpected Voice

Genesis 12:1,4 " And the Lord had said to Abram, leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. So Abram left, as the Lord had told him; " What was Abram doing when the Lord spoke to him for the first time? Was  he  managing the family business with Lot,  was he watching Sarai organize the household and servants? Was he talking with the shepherds about the new lambs or just finishing breakfast ? There was no roar of thunder. Abram wasn't suddenly surrounded by mysterious darkness, he wasn't transported to a dimension transcending time, space or unusual definition. The Scripture just say that ; God spoke !! Can you imagine God speaking to you suddenly... as to Abram. And not just a casual word, not a simple " hello, " or some helpful advice, but a shocking directive which shatters your routine and change your whole life. What would be the most surprising time at which God might speak to you?  And how would you respond... how would I respond ? Would you be amazed because He spoke or because He spoke when everything was so normal? Just another weekend... people shopping in the malls, eating at some restaurant or simply sitting at home watching a Christmas movie with family! Nothing different from the way things always are. But God's speaking in the midst of them; unpredictable, unexpected. God willingly enters into our daily lives. For this is the God of the incarnation, the God of life who joins us on earth. God willingly relates to you and me as we wash the dishes, work in the office, travel back and forth, collect the children, work for charity. For this is the God who gave Jesus to us, the God who sent his beloved Son to live with us. God willingly speaks specially to those that want to hear his voice. May we stop to listen more often and hear the voice of God even in the mist of our busy lives ! Blessings
