Dreams

My only aunt had a dream in 2017. In her dream someone told her , you have six years. At the time she didn't understand what it meant. She wrote down her dream in her journal. At the beginning of this year,  she was diagnosed with Leukemia. In a matter of a few weeks, she became total invalid, relying on her only sister and a caregiver, leading to her passing away. The family got together to pack her personal things soon after, and I got to bring her belongings home. A few nights ago, I was going through her things and found her journal where she had written several dreams she'd had over the years and found the one from 2017. Exactly as in her dream, six years to 2023, she passed away. I believe some dreams are to prepare us for a future, others to warn us. God speaks in many ways, because we are his children. If only we take time from our busy life and LISTEN to him speak!

God's Gentleness

David in Psalm 18:35 wrote, “thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.” David had full recognition of the vast mercies provided by the Lord. The provisions, protection, and empowerments were full contemplations and gentle manifestations of a righteous and sovereign God. As we inspect our own lives, we can see that the Lord’s gentleness has indeed made all the difference.

The gentleness of our God has the attributes of love, grace, mercy as well as judgment. He can exercise each office concurrently while at the same time not neglecting any of the other attributes. Certainly, God would have been justified in allowing the enemies of David to prevail against him as judgment for his indiscretions. He was an adulterer, murderer, and bad father.
Yes,  he was punished for the consequences of his sins, but the providence of our Lord had a greater eternal plan for the life of David. His testimony was one of a lowly shepherd boy who was most unlikely to wear the most powerful crown in the world. He was anointed and trained for over ten years before he was fully equipped, however, to reign over the land. The patience of this process exhibited God’s gentleness as David was not thrusted into the position prior to the “fullness of time.”

Dice Dios;

Walking again

Through the years I wasn't one to take care of my health. Maybe like some, I never thought I'd live long enough to regret it. I had a doctor's appointment recently and they did a EKG. And it show that I was having a heart attack. They wanted to send me to the ER right away, but I told them no. True I had been seeing signs of a troubled heart for some time, but I figured it'd go away. I came home. That night I felt worse. Thank God my eighty seven year old mother lives with me and she's a woman of prayer. I asked her to pray for me, which she did. We prayed and prayed until I felt better. I hadn't been able to walk more than a few steps without feeling out of breath and pain in the last few months, yet the following morning I went out the door and started walking. Every step I took, I thanked God for my life, healing and the fact that I was able to walk again with strength. I am doing what I couldn't do in months...walk. I have heard people who've had near death experience say; " My life has changed "  Well my life has changed!!  Every step I take is a great feeling, it reminds me that night in mom's room praying together, believing for healing. Now I am more than ready to do changes in my life.....

Miracles every day

Not only was I raised seeing miracles happen in the church dad was pastor, I saw them in my own life. I heard about a loving God who saved, forgave and healed since I was five years old. Anytime I was sick I trusted in a simple prayer even by me, it didn't matter what it was. I have lived a life of miracles. Tonight as I was resting, I received a text from my oldest daughter saying that my grandson had been in an accident in another city. He is a young man of twenty one years old, in his prime. As I was reading her text, I was reminded that God had had me praying for my grandson with such earnest some nights ago. And I prayed and prayed that God's hand would be upon his life for protection. I didn't fear for my grandson's life , I believed at that moment God was in control of the situation. Hours later my daughter text me saying, mom all is well. Jon has only scratches and bruises. She said the impact was huge, am 18 wheeler hit the car, it was a total loss. Cops couldn't believe my grandson was alive, much less not hurt. I knew God's hand had protected him. If there is a time we feel a need to prayer for someone , by all means pray, it might just save their lives.

Life Family and God

I became a single parent when my children were starting their teenage years. I think every parent can relate to that experience. It is the hardest thing for many parents and more for a single mom. Yet, through struggles and many problems, we all survived. From there on life became easier with time. I can't take most of the credit, it was prayer and the prayers of my wonderful mother who is a forever christian. I'm sure without her spiritual advice and prayer I wouldn't have seen my children turn out a great as they are now.  If I am honest with myself I confess having made many wrong decisions through those years. And if I grateful seeing the respect my kids have toward me regardless not having been there for them at times. Many years have gone by and God's faithfulness has followed us. God's blessing comes in many shapes colors and form. I may not have material things , oh but I can say I was blessed in a more rewarding way. My children, and grandchildren are beautiful people, respectful, loving, caring and striving toward being productive in society, things money doesn't buy. As I entered old age and see my life , I realize just how blessed I am. Not because I deserve it, but because we have an awesome God who loves and cares for us. A few days ago I saw my first great grandson , and it sure felt good to see my five generations together. My blurry eyes see old photos of long ago and for a brief moment I can still see little feet running in the house, then it's gone. Life is good!!!

Trusting God today

And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith  Genesis 15:6

God’s Story Takes Time to Unfold:

God’s promises to Abraham didn’t materialize right away. God didn’t tell him just how events would play out. So Abraham’s faith wavered. God promised that he would become the father of a great nation (Genesis 12:2), but some time later, Abraham didn’t even have children. In response, God gave new assurances.

Genesis 15:2-4 Abram replied, “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son?…. You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.” Then the Lord said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.”

The road to God’s purposes will involve delays, obstacles, and tests. It’s easy to doubt what God will do. His plans usually become more clear over time, but not always at first. Yet along the way, God welcomes honest questions.

God Secures Your Place in His Story

Abraham’s relationship with God came at God’s initiative. God sought him first. God started the conversation. Not only that, God also secures his promises. God promised Abraham that his descendants would own the land where Abraham lived as a foreigner. But again, Abraham wasn’t convinced,

Genesis 15:8 O Sovereign Lord, how can I be sure that I will actually possess it?

In response, God bound himself to his promises through a covenant. Covenants were common in the ancient world. A covenant was like a treaty, ensuring faithfulness between two parties. Both parties pledged to fulfill certain conditions. As God moved from promise to covenant, it was like reinforcing a handshake agreement with a written contract.

Genesis 15:18 So the Lord made a covenant with Abram that day and said, “I have given this land to your descendants, all the way from the border of Egypt to the great Euphrates River…”

Unlike most covenants, God’s agreement with Abraham was unilateral. God placed no conditions on Abraham. God pledged his faithfulness, but did not ask Abraham to pledge anything in return. In fact, during the ratification ceremony, God put Abraham into a deep sleep (Genesis 15:12). It’s like God signed the contract for both sides.

Likewise, God secures our place in his story through his unilateral action toward us in Christ. Jesus established a new covenant between us and God. Like Abraham’s, this was initiated entirely by God. It is based only on what God does for us, not on what we do.

Your Part in the Story Is to Keep Trusting God

In his highest moment, Abraham responded to God’s promises with faith. As a result, God considered Abraham to be a righteous man.

Genesis 15:6 And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.

Abraham’s faith became a model for a relationship with God.

The blessings of Jesus’s new covenant include forgiveness of our sins, a reconciled relationship with God, membership in God’s family, and more. Like Abraham, we receive these blessings, not by obedience or worthiness, but by trusting in God’s action for us – through Jesus’s death and resurrection.

Having entered God’s story by trusting in Jesus, we continue in a growing journey of faith through all the twists and turns of life. In tough times you might be tempted to give up on God. But remember: it can take a lifetime to develop deep faith. Don’t give up on God. As you keep trusting in his faithfulness, your faith will continue to grow!

My refuge and my fortress

Psalms 91:1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
It is not every man who dwells there; no, not even every Christian man. There are some who come to God’s house; but the man mentioned here dwells with the God of the house. There are some who worship in the outer court of the temple; but “he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High” lives in the Holy of Holies; he draws near to the mercy-seat, and keeps there; he walks in the light, as God is in the light; he is not one who is sometimes on and sometimes off, a stranger or a guest, but like a child at home, he dwells in the secret place of the most High. Oh, labour to get to that blessed position! You who know the Lord, pray that you may attain to this high condition of dwelling in the inner shrine, always near to God, always overshadowed by those cherubic wings which indicate the presence of God. If this is your position, you “shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” You are not safe in the outer courts; you are not protected from all danger anywhere but within the vail. Let us come boldly there; and, when we once enter, let us dwell there.
Psalms 91:2. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
This is a daring utterance, as if the psalmist would claim for himself the choicest privileges of any child of God. When you hear a glorious doctrine preached, it may be very sweet to others; but the honey lies in the particular application of it to yourself. You must, like the bee, go down into the bell of the flower yourself, and fetch out its nectar. “I will say of the Lord, He is my” — then come three my’s, as if the psalmist could grasp the Triune Jehovah, — “my refuge, my fortress, my God; in him will I trust.” What a grand word that is, “My God”! Can any language be loftier?
Can any thought be more profound? Can any comfort be surer?
Psalms 91:3. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
If you dwell near to God, you will not be deceived by Satan. In the light of the Lord you will see light; and you will discover the limed twigs and the nets and the traps that are set to catch you: “He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler.”
Psalms 91:3. And from the noisome pestilence.
The pestilence is something that you cannot see. It comes creeping in, and fills the air with death before you perceive its approach; but “He shall deliver thee from the noisome pestilence.” There is a pestilence of dangerous and accursed error abroad at this time; but if we dwell in the secret place of the most High, it cannot affect us; we shall be beyond its power. “Surely,” oh, blessed word! there is no doubt about this great truth, Surely, he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.”
Psalms 91:4. He shall cover thee with his feathers,
The psalmist uses a wonderful metaphor when he ascribes “feathers” to God, and compares him to a hen, or some mother-bird, under whose wings her young find shelter. Yet the condescension of God is such that he allows us to speak of him thus: “He shall cover thee with his feathers.”
Psalms 91:4. And under his wings shalt thou trust:
God is to his people a strong defense and a tender defense. “His wings” and “his feathers” suggest both power and softness. God hides not his people in a casing of iron; their shelter is stronger than iron, yet it is soft as the downy wings of a bird for ease and comfort. As the little chicks bury their tiny heads in the feathers of the hen, and seem happy, and warm, and comfortable under their mother’s wings, so shall it be with thee if thou dwellest with thy God: “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust.”
Psalms 91:4. His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Twice is he armed who hath God’s truth to be his shield and buckler.
Psalms 91:5. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
Nervous as you are, and naturally timid, when you dwell near to God, your fears shall all go to sleep. That is a wonderful promise: “Thou shalt not be afraid.” If it had said, “Thou shalt have no cause for fear,” it would have been a very comforting word; but this is even more cheering, Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night.”
Psalms 91:5. Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Both night and day thou shalt be safe. Thy God will not leave thee in the glare of the sun, nor will he forsake thee when the damps of night-dews would put thee in peril. We, dear friends, may have secret enemies, who shoot at us, but we shall not be afraid of the arrow. There may be unseen influences that would ruin us, or cause us dishonour, or distress; but when we dwell with God, we shall not be afraid of them.
Psalms 91:6-7. Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
When God takes his people to dwell in nearness to himself, and they have faith in this promise, I make no doubt that, literally, in the time of actual pestilence, they will be preserved. It is not every professing Christian, nor every believer who attains this height of experience; but only such as believe the promise, and fulfill the heavenly condition of dwelling in the secret place of the most High. How could cholera or fever get into the secret place of the most High? How could any arrows, how could any pestilence, ever be able to reach that secure abode of God? If you dwell there, you are invincible, invulnerable, infinitely secure.
Psalms 91:8-10. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee,
“There shall no evil befall thee.” It may have the appearance of evil; but it shall turn out to thy good. There shall be but the appearance of evil, not the reality of it: “There shall no evil befall thee.”
Psalms 91:10-11. Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
You remember how the devil misapplied this text to Christ. He was quite right in the application; but he was quite wrong in the. quotation, for he left out the words “in all thy ways.” God will help us in our ways if we keep in his ways. When we meet with trouble and accident, we ought to inquire whether we are in God’s way. That famous old Puritan, holy Mr. Dodd, having to cross a river, had to change from one boat into another, and being little used to the water, he fell in, and, when he was pulled out, in his simplicity and wisdom he said, “I hope that I am in my way.” That was the only question that seemed to trouble him. If I am in my way, then God will keep me. We ought to ask ourselves, “Now, am I in God’s way? Am I really moving today and acting today as divine providence leads me, and as duty calls me?” He who travels on the king’s business, by daylight, along the king’s highway, may be sure of the king’s protection. “He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Come here, Gabriel, Michael, and all the rest of you,” says the great King of kings to the angels around his throne; and when they come at his call, he says, “Take care of my child. Watch over him today. He will be in peril;
suffer no evil to come near him.”
Psalms 91:12. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
What royal protection we have, a guard of angels, who count it their delight and their honour to wait upon the seed-royal of the universe, for such are all the saints of God!
Psalms 91:13. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Strength and mastery may be united. The young lion and the dragon, but the child of God shall overcome them. Talk of St. George and the dragon! We ought to think more of the saint and the dragon. It is he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High, who, by God’s help, treads upon the lion and adder, and of whom it is written, “The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.”
Psalms 91:14. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:
Does God take notice of our poor love? Oh, yes, he values the love of his people, for he knows where it came from; it is a part of his own love; the creation of his grace!
Psalms 91:14. I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Does God value such feeble and imperfect knowledge of his name as we possess? Yes; and he rewards that knowledge: “I will set him on high.”
Psalms 91:15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
Notice, that it is, “He shall,” and I will.” The mighty grace of God “shall” make us pray, and the Almighty God of grace “will” answer our prayer: “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him.” How I love these glorious shalls and wills!
Psalms 91:15. I will be with him in trouble;
“Whatever that trouble is, I will be with him in it. If he be dishonoured, if he be in poverty, if he be in sickness, if that sickness should drive his best friend away from his bed, still, ‘I will be with him in trouble.’”
Psalms 91:15. I will deliver him, and honour him.
God puts honour upon us, poor dishonourable worms that we are. One old divine calls a man “a worm six feet long”; and it is rather a flattering description of him. But God says, “I will deliver him, and honour him.”
Psalms 91:16. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
He will live as long as he wants to live. Even if he should have but few years, yet he shall have a long life; for life is to be measured by the life that is in it, not by the length along which it drags. Still, God’s children do live to a far longer age than any other people in the world; they are on the whole a long-lived race. They who fear God are delivered from the vices which would deprive them of the vigor of life; and the joy and contentment they have in God help them to live longer than others. I have often noticed how long God’s people live. Some of them are speedily taken home; still this text is, as a rule, literally fulfilled, “With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.” He shall see God’s salvation even here; and when he dies, and wakes up in the likeness of his Lord, he will see it to the full. May that be the portion of each of us!

Ask God for help!!

(Philippians 4:6 NLT)
Have you ever had one of those days when nothing goes right? When the odds are stacked against you, you’re overwhelmed, and you wonder if you should just give up and go back to bed?
When you have a day like that—or maybe even a year like that—you have two choices: You can worry, or you can worship.
You can’t do both. If you’re worrying, you’re not going to worship. If you’re worshiping, you’re not going to worry.
Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (NLT).
The antidote to worry is worship—to pray, praise God, and ask him for what you need.
When many people hear the word “worship,” they think of music. Music is one way to worship. But worship really is an entire lifestyle. Every aspect of your life can be an act of worship to God.
This morning for example, I woke up earlier then usual. I had one thought in my mind that worried me.  My family , friends , and the corona-virus. I started listening to the news as usual , but then decided to praise God for all his goodness and mercy instead. I can't control whats happening in our world around me, but there is someone who can and will.....God.

When impossible days come, choose to worship God by asking him to help you. He will always hear and respond !

Trusting God

Don't depend on you

We  live in a world where trust must be earned and seems to be in short supply. But Salomon,  the famous king who wrote Proverbs, knew that trust is exactly where we must start.
Most of us face  disappointments, which have taught us that we can only depend  upon ourselves.  But living the life God has called us to means unlearning that lesson instead., we're  meant to rest in God's  understand.
Of course  trusting  Him completely like that can be tough. So each day we must lay aside our own plans  and expectations- and surrender to His plan.

Every day is a second chance

Two years have gone by since my son's illness. The actual word is healing.  His testicles  were and are placed inside his  inner thighs among other changes in his body. Remembering back in September 4, 2016, when he got sick, as I took him to emergency three times the same week , before they knew what he had. Then being transfer to a Houston Texas hospital for immediate surgery, not knowing that his life was in a thread.
We have come a long way since then. My son still has the changes in his body, which in any other person would have made him depressed, yet God has given him peace of mind and hope for a  better tomorrow . A tomorrow when he can have the surgeries of reconstruction. He started working in his old job last year, not totally well. His walk in life isn't easy, his walk literally painful at times, has made him a stronger person , not giving up. Yes , there are times that as a mom, his mom, I wonder will he recuperate to his old life again? And I hear him say in conversation....mom , when I have my own children. You see my son has never married and he has no children, yet he trusts God for a total recuperation.
Two years ago doctors said, he might not make it, God said : he will. I call that  a second chance.

The son I almost lost

It was August 8th 2016, my son woke up to a terrible pain in his left lower side and didn't go to work. He thought it was just a simple pain and that it would go away. Some days later the pain was unbearable and I took him to the emergency at Bayshore Hospital. They did some tests , gave him antibiotics and send him home, but the pain got worst. Two weeks later we were at the emergency again, after a couple of hours, a doctor went to the room and told my son that he was very ill and needed surgery right away. They made preparations to have him transfer  to another Hospital by ambulance. That night my son was seen by many doctors, all asking so many questions and trying to figure out the reason of a  flesh eating bacteria my son had in his intestines that had traveled all the way down to his colon and testicles. Three doctors took me aside and said; We just want to you to know that even after several surgeries we're going to have to do tonight , your son may not make it. He is very ill. My son was in surgery several hours, time that I called my family , and my son's dad. Then I sat on a bench and cried. I felt like my world as I knew, had no meaning. And in that desperation I called on God. I knew my son was going to go through so much pain, and at that moment I told God , just take my son, I don't want him to suffer. Of course I didn't mean what I had said, and I'm sure God knew. I cried to God and ask that He would put his hand first before the doctors and control everything they were going to do to my son that night. They came out to let me know that they had done all they could . I went home , it was six in the morning and I fell asleep. The phone rang at ten , one of the doctors that had done the surgery called to tell me that my son was going to make it.
It has been a long process to recovery, but we have seen God's hand in my son's health this whole year. Its easy to talk about faith as long as we don't have to actually use it or need it. We never know how much faith we have until we go through something huge. We don't know how strong we are until we have to be, for one of our children. We don't know what God can do , until we are in great need of a miracle.

What is Classic Christians?

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."   Romans 12:1

There are many ideas of what a classic is.  The dictionary meaning according to Webster is, "serving as a standard of excellence of recognized value".   As I began delving into what makes a classic, I realized that striving to be a classic Christian person might be a good thing.  We aren't cars that someone will drive in a parade someday or that may end up in a museum, but each of us can set a standard that our children, family, and friends can look up to. Our lives can have a recognized value in the way that we live it.

How would we know  if we are classic....well lets see,
Do we have Heritage?
Classic cars, toys, and other things classic are mostly known by their maker or manufacturer.   As a Christian we have a wonderful heritage.   We are God's children.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.   The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; And if children, then heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."    Romans 8:14-17

"Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." Galatians 4:7

If someone turned you over to reveal your maker, would you have the right mark of identification? Have you accepted Christ as your personal Savior?

Do we have Quality. ?
When we think of a classic, we usually think of something that has quality.   We think of the effectiveness and the essential character that it has.   As Christians what could be more fitting as our quality, than holiness, because we serve a holy God.

"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."   I Peter 1:13-16

Do we have Value?
We normally hang a pretty high price tag on our classics.   Think how much a classic car can range. In Christ, we have value too. It is nothing that we are on our own.  In contrast, He gave us our value when He died on the cross to save our souls.  What is more compelling to make us want to live our lives in His will and to reflect that value He has given us?

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."    I Corinthians 6:19,20

Are we Recognizable?
Classics of any type are easy to recognize.  There's that little detailing that marks them as unique. How about us?   When people look at us, do they know we are a Christian?  Can they tell who our Maker is?

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.   By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."    John 13:34,35
Are we Timeless?
You all know those movies we consider classics, such as It's A Wonderful Life or a classic book, such as Little Women.  The classics are ones we can watch over and over or read over and over again. How many of our lives would we want replayed?  Are we living in a way that our actions and deeds are worthy of being a classic?  Are we leaving an example for our children?  Are we leaving a heritage that is worth remembering or is all we've made just a fad that fades away?

Conforming to the will of God and being in tune with Him in all aspects of our lives will help us live the life we should and make our lives worthy of remembering.

I trust that we'll all strive to be classic Christian people. If we are parents, we should strive even so much more because we have children that take our lives for their examples. We don't even have to be dead and gone to see what effect we have on our children. We can see it in them as they continue to grow from day to day. Our children should have wonderful strengths and qualities that come out in them by what they learned as a result of our examples. Christ was our ultimate example.
No one should have to turn us over to check the mark of our Maker.  We should live in a way that it exudes from us.  When we've left this earth, other's memories of us should conjure up something with the classic lines that a well-lived life of a Christian should have.-JBettencourt

Caught in the Storm

Have you ever been caught in a storm? Stormy weather can cause some very intense feelings and reactions in us.
In Matthew 14:22-33 is the story of Peter walking on the water. To set the scene, a storm came up while the disciples were in a ship and they were afraid when they saw Jesus walking on the water toward them. Jesus told them Who He was and then Peter, one of the disciples walked on the water too--well, at first. When Peter looked around and saw the storm, he was afraid.

Maybe you are in a storm in your life too. It's natural to be afraid. Here's Peter, one of the disciples who learned at Jesus' feet and even he was afraid, but look what it says in Matthew 14:31 after Peter began to sink and called out to Christ.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him,
and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Did you notice that? Jesus caught Peter and was with him until they were come to the ship. It doesn't say that Jesus stopped the storm and then they went to the ship. It says that when they reached the ship, that the wind ceased. Sometimes we are going to have to go through the storm. Sometimes the Lord will take the storm away, but other times we have to weather it out. Aren't you glad that Jesus is there to weather it out with us?

Jesus knew His disciples were going to be in that boat when the storm came up....Just as He knows our own storms.  He sent them there. We may question why the Lord tells us to do something or where He has sent us, or even the things that we have to deal with because it may not be smooth sailing. We may question why the Lord is causing storms in our lives when all we want to do is to serve Him and obey Him. This story shows me that sometimes we can be right where God wants us--right where He told us to go--right in the center of His will and we can still have some storms come up. What we can take comfort in is the fact that the Lord knows all about those storms and He's there with us through them. Now this makes me a happy woman , to know we don't ever have to walk alone, either it be on our sunny days or stormy nights!- JB
